That's lovely Agi!! :applesauce: :applesauce: Those french knots are really good, and
those colours are so delicate. What is the fabric? Is it linen, if it is what's the colour?
I often see things stitched on linen in French Magazines and like the fabric colour then I cant find it anywhere!!

Wendy, I am ashamed to say they are not French knots, just simply crosses - I tried French knots, but somehow they didn't seem right.

The fabric is 31 (!) count dark natural linen, I bought it from e-bay and I love it a lot. Although I had to change the thread colours a few times because what I planned originally didn't show on this material. Like the light bluish-grey colour for the backstitch - I had to frog a lot of backstitching and start it again :x - but I like it now. :)

Frogging backstitch is quite possibly the worst. :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog:

Don't be ashamed Agi, they look brilliant and really suit it. I think you made the right choice making them crosses instead of french knots because it works. No point doing a speciality stitch if it doesn't work right.

I shall look out for that linen! Thanks!

I like french knots! but they can be a real pain to do!!

This is beautiful, Agi, well done! I agree that stitching a border might make it more difficult to line up perfectly in the frame, but perhaps a nice mount will set it off.
