Such gorgeous colors. This is already quite stunning. I can hardly wait to see it all finished on the bag.

Thanks everyone. I forgot that my LNS is closed on Sundays. I will have to call them tomorrow and hope they have it in stock. :x:

Calico, I've never used it before. I've pulled a few threads already, but it's only been where there's no stitches. No clue how easy it will be to pull from under lots of stitches.

I've never used waste canvas....it looks tedious to remove...is it?
I use waste quite a lot and it can be a pain to pull but it reaally depends on the size, how much stitching and if you have accidentally caught the edge of the waste when stitching. This one should pull out with no problem.

Good to know! I have a goal in 2013 to use waste canvas at least once!

Started on my brother's christmas present while I wait on the floss for the feather to arrive.

The full design is here: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/99883799" target="_blank

For those that don't know "sXe" is one of the abbreviated forms of straight edge. My brother doesn't call himself straight edge, but he very much lives the three biggest universal parts of it as the pattern says - he doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink and he doesn't do drugs. Also as the pattern says... he plays video games. He picked out the pattern and I am planning to turn it into a small pillow for him.

Simba has been keen to add his specialty floss to the project, but I've managed to lint roll most of it away.

Great gift for your brother and great progress. :applesauce: I forget that the specialty floss is not an integral part of a cross stitch project.

Thanks everyone! Since I live with my brother I knew I wouldn't be able to keep it secret from him so I let him decide what he wanted. Which means I don't have to work on it only when he's not home.

I ordered the floss from The Rocking Horse (my LNS) yesterday afternoon and it arrived in the mail today. I know it wasn't far to ship, but I still thought it might be tomorrow before it arrived. So I was pleasantly surprised to find it had arrived today. I had them pick a second color of the Weeks Dye Works floss for me since shipping was going to be $3 whether I bought one skein of floss or more and they sent me 1269 Chestnut as the second skein.

I'm going to do as much stitching as possible today because tomorrow I start making my cake truffles which I give to my friends and family as a Christmas gift. This year I am making the following cake/frosting combos for them: chocolate caramel, chocolate peanut butter, lemon, raspberry lemon, spice cake, spiced rum, pineapple cheesecake and maple bacon. My work is cut out for me, but I really enjoy it.

I'm just catching up on these - what fantastic patterns you've chosen! I hope everything went smoothly for you so you could get it all done in time to take final pics for us! ;) Your truffles sound amazing, too.
