I'm down to just the backstitch now. Final leg....but... Chris has seen something he wants stitched now. Bubble bobble characters, which I'm doing as a patch or not at all, for his shirt. So I may only get a day or two done on my big one before I do that. Depends on when he buys the shirt for it.

The book is fun. Things Id stitch for other people though rather than myself.

oh and who likes my new avie/siggy combo? I got a bit bored.

hehe Im glad. I'm 22 and this is what my childhood would look like if it were compressed into avie and siggy Its totally perfect for me as I have a Barbie and MLP collection. I've always wanted carebears, but never had one though Till my grandad bought me a bedtime bear cross stitch kit ^_^ Which lives in my craft room ^_^

I'm saving the "Lynn" sisters eyes till last ^_^ That way she won't see it before it's done I'm determined to finish before I go to bed though. Just doing the brackets, then the bag handles then her face...

I tell you what though...it's really not my week! Three sticky plasters I've gone through so far! The first one I sliced my finger open on a kitchen knife, the second one (probably the most bizzarre cut I've given myself) was on a ragady thumb nail....doesnt sound bad, but I actually bled through the sticky plaster! And just now, framing this, I took the glass out because the beads are too big and Chris asks if I actually had glass, and I go to pick up the glass plate...and slice my thumb open!!! He takes one look at the glass and declaires it lethal! So I'm sat with yet another plaster on *sigh* my mum is gonna wrap me up in cotton wool for sure this weekend

hehe you know...my whinnie the Pooh cup has a sharp edge and usually gets me when I wash it too

Chris has kissed them all better. He even went and got the plasters and coddled me, when he was supposed to be working ^_^

Thank you. I chose a wooden frame to bring out the colours, I'm just happy I had one the right size in my frame drawer. Yes, I have a frame drawer. How could I not once I discovered frames for 50p in a craft shop ^_^

Angel, I have been just catching up in this thread! Love your sister chart, and you did a great job with the finish, even through all the frogging, changing and cuts! No pain no Gain right! Its nice to see you around, it feels like I haven't seen you around the board in a while! Looking forward to see what you have next up your sleeve.

I also love MLP and all that jazz, I get to live through all the barbies with my daughter! She's 5.

Yeah, I think I went quiet for a bit, not sure why, probably playing far too much it girl on facebook....seriously, what is the attraction of that game? I spend hours playing dress up!But anyway, it's good to be active again. I know I must have been MIA, my Daily post average has somehow shrunk to only 6!!! It was at 28 and considering I've been onhere three years, that's taken a lot of inactivity

Never too old for MLP and all that jazz. You know, a five year old daughter is the perfect excuse to get your old toys out of the loft and play with them ^_^

Would you like to see my next tween? I didn't get much sleep last night as the electrician came early this morning and we had an exceptionally late night (about 3am) and with there being so much white on white and confetti stitching on my big project, I opted for an easy one instead, knowing I'd have to frog almost as much as I stitched

So I decided to work on Bubble Bobble from the video game of the same title. It's one Chris used to play as a child and when he played retro t-shirt designer he decided he wanted a short with them on. I love the old 8bit systems, they're so easy to chart! So I charted them the other night and stitched them today.

They're going on a shirt, but...he doesn't have any white shirts, so we're buying one tomorrow. They're going to go on the sleeve, I decided to do them as a patch as I just don't get on with waste canvas and I've not got any water soluble stuff.

Stitched on 14ct aida. I did the characters 2over1 and the bubble 1over1 to give a sense of depth and because bubbles are transparant. As I thought, I had to frog a lot, and the white gleam in the bubble is actually all stitched in the opposite direction to the rest of the design, but it catches the light nicely, so we left it like that. I'll have another look tomorrow and frog if necessary.


The colours are darker than they should be, because of the light, but for once, Chris was the first one to take the picture. He couldn't wait and has put it up on facebook. I'm waiting until the shirt is done before I put it on mine though ^_^
