The design is by Patricia Allison. It is not out for sale yet--this is the model for the cover of the pattern. Once I finish the model and send it back to her, it takes a couple of months for her to do the outlining & beading and publish it. I can always give you a heads up when it is out since she sends me a copy of the pattern with my name on it.valb58 wrote:Where did you get the design? I really love dragons and would love to get that design.
Serinde, it's a very simple scroll frame that I bought at Joann's. It originally came with split rods, but DH cut several sizes of dowels for it that I have glued velcro to to attach the fabric. When I bought the frame, I also bought the lap stand attachments for it. They are simply an upside down T that slips onto the scroll. It could be better, but DH made some improvements when he made new stretcher bars & lap stand legs. I'll try to take a picture later. I was going to look through the pictures on my laptop, but unfortunately they're not on this computer since it's new (lother laptop crashed Friday).Serinde wrote:Just caught up with this, which is fabulous. Can I ask what working frame or stand system you use?
This is simply beautiful! I love it! The sparkly border sets him off beautifully, too.Busy_B wrote:The design is by Patricia Allison. The back of my 'fljotsdale' dragon is dreadful - there is such a LOT of confetti and small groups of 2 or 3 stitches that the back is just a tangled mess.Busy_B wrote:Cecilia wrote: the back is so tidy.I keep forgetting that the back is visible on the scroll when i take pictures. At least this is a good part of the back. The border area gets a little crowded with all of the color changes.
I just happened to see a request on the forum for a model stitcher and contacted her about it. She wasn't sure if she really wanted a model stitcher since she has always done all of her own work. It's nice since it is at my own speed--she isn't concerned with deadlines like other model stitchers work on.maemae0410 wrote:wow how did you become a model stitcher??
