geekishly wrote:I love it, too! It grows so fast and has such a cool effect. I'm eager to get back to work on it, but I need to get some sleep as I am going out with some friends tonight. A local club is having a Heroes Vs. Villains event sponsored by the local comic book store and my two BFFs and I are going to that. Should be loads of fun.

Yeah they do row fast, good for a quick finish between larger projects. Oh that sounds good hope you have a great night

Great start on the blackwork lady. That is going to be fun to stitch.
Have fun tonight. Sounds like an interesting theme.

Thanks, Faith!
It is, Amanda. It might take me a few days to finish it, but it will definitely go faster than either of my two larger projects. I hope to, but idk how much fun it's going to be as I'm in a lot of pain right now and wearing a wrist brace. Hopefully it lets up by tonight.
Thanks, Calico. My parents thought they were clever and really beautiful. I was surprised by how much I managed to accomplish with her. I've never worked something of this size on 28 ct before, or with this much jumping around.
I will try to have fun despite the pain, Carole. It is really fun to stitch this. While there aren't many colors in it, it has just the right amount to make i pop.
Rose, beads sound so much better to me than 100 french knots.
Thanks, Karen. I can't wait to make another update, though it likely won't be until Tuesday night. Don't think I'm going to ge much stitching done today.
Thanks, Fiddler! She really is. When I saw her on the cover of WOXS, I just had to buy the issue. There was no way I could pass up something like this.

Reposting this pic from the Mini Projects 2012 thread.

I just finished this a little bit ago. It's the free kit from Cross Stitcher magazine, but I swapped out the cloth because it was a) as big as the colored background to attach it to, b) caused you to stitch right up to the very edge thus leaving no room for fraying. I switched from the 14 ct white to a 16 ct fiddler's light oatmeal. It's going to be a birthday gift for my BFF's daughter who is turning 9. I figured using something that wasn't white would be more forgiving to smudges and the such.
Made some progress on the Blackwork Lady, too.
So happy with how this one is turning out.

Thanks! This is my first time doing blackwork on this scale. I have done some filling patterns on smaller projects, but it's really fun doing this much of it.

Thanks. I'll post a pic later, when I'm done for the day, but I've made some great progress on it so far today. Aside from the two strand backstitching and the beading, I am all done with the skirt and almost done with the sash. I'm hoping to finish the sash and start in on the backstitching today.
