I am now down to about 200 stitches and a small amount of back stitching, I know I should be stitching like mad at the moment but it's all the confetti stitches and I can't keep at it, I need someone to poke me with that big long needle to get me stitching again

I will try to finish it by tomorrow and then post a picture

Well, I don't want to poke you, no, it's not my style. How about luring you with some :choc: and :cake: ? You can have them when you are done. Hm?

Well here it is, I have just finished it
Image

I have enjoyed this project and there is a small amount of mettalics, blending fractionals and backstitch but not too much. The worse part was the childrens hair and stupidly this was the part I did last. So anyone who has this in your to do pile I would definately recommend it but would suggest you get the childrens hair done earlier so you can really enjoy the rest.

I have the frame for it but somehow I didn't measure the material properly and I am a little short so I have ordered a mount which I am collecting on Monday so can't frame it until then

Please may I have :choc: :choc: :cake: :cake: now :beg:

It is gorgeous! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

May I ask something? It may sound stupid, but I don't really understand this picture. It seems to me that there is something hidden under her skirts. What is that little "hill" in the front? I can't make it out. Sorry

It looks beautiful finished.
Agi, I think it is the crinoline skirt that goes like that when she sits down and rests her book on her lap - unless there is a naughty 3rd child who has sneaked away from "Miss"

Thanks all

Agi, I know what you mean but I think Midge is right, their skirts were so large and full they got in the way, some of there skirts would have hoops in them to make them stick out, useful for resting things on or as Midge suggested for naughty childre to hide under

A beautiful finish!

just a note on the skirt -- depending on what period she is from it may be all petticoats giving the skirt its bulk (can you imagine carying pounds and pounds and pounds of weight around just to shape your skirt  ), and so when you sit down and are a little careless in arranging all your layers, it may get "bunched up" in places. If she is from a later period (and the size of the skirt seems to suggest that) it would be a hoop crinoline under there, but these were very flexible and would bend into whatever shape the skirt was forced into (leading to unfortunate ladies sitting down without enough care and finding their skirts lift up rather too revealingly at the front...), so that too may account for the bump.

But perhaps I'm reading a little bit too much into this...
