Kerbear, sorry to hear you cant join.. :( At least, because I am a slow stitcher you could join in and I wont probably even have it a 1/4 done  lol

I started mine today but didnt get much done, on Monday I spent my stitching time preparing and stitching blanket stitch around the fabric. Here's what mine looks like so far!

This is brilliant to watch and follow.
I love the colour differences, I love the way you start from different places and stitch at different paces as well.

Well done to all of you and please keep the updates coming, it's great to see them!

Kerri I won't be able to join in either I'm just to swamped with work and nvq things at the moment and I just won't be able to keep up till I get things under control.

How about we do our own SAL for this when the times right for both of us?

My boyfriends jeep broke down again and we had to spend a ton of money to get it fixed and so unfortunately I am not going to be able to buy any supplies for awhile. :( So I am going to have to hold off on doing this piece. But I will enjoy watching all of you stitch this piece! (Thanks again dawn for the magazine..I feel really bad now since I won't be able to stitch this just yet!)

hey Ker..since I have a HUGE amt of floss in my stash..i could send you as many of the extra skiens that I have..it doesn't call for many colors..and I also have some spare 14ct or 18ct white aida if you'd like? u r in the US so I can even ship to you.
Let me know and you'll have it by the weekend!

Well, I got a little discouraged with this last night. I was stitching on a 28 ct linen, but the more I stitched, the more you could see everything thru the back-even under other stitches. :x So, I took out all of the stitching to save the fabric for a future time when I'm ready to try it again. I found a piece of ivory 14 ct aida in my stash that will hopefully work. I'm not completely confident with the color, but I'm sure it will be fine. I hope to be able to start on this again some time today. Our son is off school for a teacher development day and my daughter has gymnastics this morning. :?

Aww you guys are so sweet! I really appreciate that offer, but I just did my taxes today and I am getting a really big tax return! It was a really pleasant surprise! So I should have that money by the 13th of February so then I can go get the supplies for this project. YAY!! So I will start on this but I'll just be a little late starting! Thanks again for your offers CF and Rose! :D

p.s. rose could you add a pic of the finished article into your first post, then we can see how people have varied it on the original...if that makes sense

Is it ok to just add it in right here Then you all don't have to go all the way back to the beginning to see it.
