Progress from last night and this morning. The two colours 312 and 824 are so similar that I found it hard to track where I was. LOL. Hopefully I will have the 1st page completed by next week.
I have a wee question, I was looking online for Dimensions cross stitch kit and I noticed the selection is not as diverse as it used to be. Does anyone knows why that might be?

You are making great progress. I mark off with yellow highlighter on the chart which stitches I have done. Makes it so much easier when the colors are so close, especially when you start getting to the 6 or 10 shades of the same color.

Agreed. I have some mechanical pencils with colored led that I use to mark off my stitches. It helps a ton.
I also agree on the great progress! Such a beautiful design!

Another update. I would had one yesterday but I forgot to take my USB with the photo to work. LOL. I do use highlighters to mark as I go along but when I'm looking at the real stitches, I can't help but feel that I might have used the wrong colour cos they look so similar. I also drew the symbols on the bottom of the chart and the DMC colour code beside them too.

It's looking great!!!! Wonderful work! I noticed Dimensions seems to be slowing their game too.. I recently purchased one of their products, but ran out of floss. .When I emailed the company I got a email from Wilton Industries... I found that weird

Another wee update. That is weird with the Dimensions being Wilton Industries. I have noticed that they don't have any whimsies for sale. They must have done away with them now.

Another wee update since last night. I filled in the wee wee dots that you could see in the previous photos. Is it better to go across or down the sides? I'm scared if I go across, it will be the same old blue colours again with hardly a change in lighter colours.

great update. I would guess if you continue the row across you are going to have a lot more blue, but I wouldn't think it matters if you go across like a lot of stitchers do or decide to do the next page down to get some color change from the blue. Eventually you will have to work down also so whatever works best for you would be the way to go, I would think. That is the only problem that I see with HAEDs is the amount of background some designs have. I have one with pages and pages of black.

Another wee update. I made a mistake so I spent the time on Monday frogging lol. It's hard to believe that one stitch can cause a whole lot of frogging. And I had to frog again a bit this morning. Them stitches are so tiny and tight to rip. You can now see the clouds peeking.

Hi Stephen

You're doing great with this, is that nearly a page done? The colours are lovely and it's a gorgeous design. Keep the updates coming

Its "The Burden" a Lord of the Ring spattern and my first HAED which I have sorely neglected these past few months. I do a little bit now and then and will probably take it with me to a stiching group Sat night (if we dont get the predicted monster thunderstorms) because I won't have to pay too much attention. It has 27 skeins of black. You can see my long lost thread
here. There are some HAEDs with a lot more. I think we have a forum member stitching one that has 50+skeins of black.

Another small update. I made a mistake somewhere and I'm trying to find it and fix it. LOL. It's not easy when the colours are so close.

Wow that is a lot of black. I don't think I could handle 50+ skeins of black.
I bought two new charts recently and one of them have 12 skeins. Not as bad as that. LOL. Carole, I saw your WIP "The Burden" and that's some nice work you did.
Hope you pick it up again soon.

If you can't find your error I would leave it along and just move on. i know I made a few in mine and unless it seriously effects the next stitches I think no one but you will even know it is there. Since you are working on the sky it all blends in now anyway. Great work

you are close to finishing the page. (Thank you for your comments about LOTR. Will be back to it soon as I am doing a rotation of sorts now and will get back to doing a column of black on that one in between the others.) I am looking forward to your next update on this one.
