HAED - Bless Our Heavenly Home

Post by stdenny »

I made a start on my very first HAED. It's very daunting.. As you see I didn't do much gridding as it was disaster for me. I kept miscounting so I give up. As you can see I gridded it by page proving to be a bit quicker for me.
This is my progress of it since I started it on Wednesday. Not much. LOL.

Here's a refresher of what the project will look like.

Oh yes I remember this one. Looks like a fair bit of progress anyway! I think it is a good idea to grid pages as well, how many are in this one? What fabric are you using?

Look forward to seeing more!

Every time I see this picture I want to add wording on that banner. Did the chart give instructions on how you could do that? Are you using full stitches or tent stitches?

I am the same with gridding, that is why I now use magic aida. Oh it is so easy and it means you can start wherever you like. I have been singing the praises of this for ages now.... maybe I should get a discount on my next piece of fabric????????

Don't be daunted by your first HAED, they are truely fabulous to do and when they are finished you will be so amazed as many can testify to on this forum. You have picked a lovely chart to do and that is important, pick something you really love and you WILL finish it. Just remember a cross stitch is just that no matter what chart you are following so do not worry, just enjoy. What are you stitching it on?
I got Bubble Telescope for my birthday (thank you my bestest pal) and I hope to start it very soon, I can see yet another UFO coming on as the one I am stitching is sure to get the heave ho for this chart, it keeps staring at me, I will say that it is already being stitched on this forum and there is no way I will be stitching it as fast as the very clever person that is doing it (sorry I can't for the minute remember your name) but I cannot forget your fabulous stitching.
Happy Stitching

I done a wee bit more. The holes are so tiny and very tight.
I'm using 25ct Lugana (Don't think I will be using Lugana or 25ct for a HAED) and the chart is 27 pages and that's not including the front page and floss list.

fabulous progress I'm with you on gridding though I tried it recently and I reckon it'll take me longer to grid than it will to stitch!!
