I am just starting a new smaller project to work on in between my castle project. The design is "Midwinter" by Monsterbubbles. I am stitching 1x1 on 32 count Lugana in "Terra Cotta" by Enchanted Fabrics. The threads used are Gentle Art Sampler Threads, Weeks Dye Works and Thread Gatherer Silk N Colors.
Here is the design:
And here is what I have so far:

I actually didn't change any of the threads - all the monsterbubbles designs only use the specialty threads, that is one reason I love her designs! Between using the hand-dyed fabiric, and using the over-dyed floss, you are sure to get a unique finished prduct!! I did change the fabric though. She uses mostly R&R Reproductions for her models, but I prefer the fabric I have gotten from Enchanted Fabrics and Silkweavers.

Ah, from the picture of the finished piece and your progress picture I thought you had chosen a blue-er (if that's a word) thread -- is that just because of the difference in photographs, or is it the unique nature of hand-dyed threads that your dye-lot was bluer than the ones they used for the model?
Whichever it is, it;s looking great !
Annkor, I had another look at the fabric when I read your posting, and there does seem to be a grining face there, doesn't there!

I think it just the difference in the photos.....or maybe my dye lot is a little blue-er, I am not sure! In person it is more grey / silver than blue looking. Plus I haven't added in all the white yet. The wind swirls are done in SNC "Silver Queen" & "Snow Drift White", and GA "Slate". In the first progress pic I have mostly just the "Silver Queen" swirls done, so maybe that is making it seem more blue than the model.
Annkor I did not notice the "face" in the fabric till you said something, but you are right, it does look like that!!
I just realized I have not updated this one in quite a while! I have been working on this in between other projects as I get time, but it is coming along. I just have to finish the tree and then the border. I thought this would be a quicker stitch, but it is more time consuming than I expected. Probably since I am stitching full crosses over one....anyway, here is the update:
