Stephanie's Stitching (2010 edition!)

Post by atla »

I'm so in love with the project that I'm working on that I wanted my own thread. But first, a couple of recent finishes:

A birdy:

This was just something quick and fun to stitch. The pattern was an online freebie, and it was stitched with a DMC variegated thread.

"Old World Santa" (already posted in the Xmas stitching thread).

He's a pretty small guy. About 3" by 4". Nonetheless, I hope to have him fixed up in a small desktop frame for my MIL this week. Stitched with DMC cotton on oatmeal aida. It was my first project with beads. Yes, there are only 3, but it got me over my fear! :)

And now, my WIP. "Earth Rise" by Lorrac Designs. The pattern is discontinued, but luckily I bought it at my LNS a couple of years ago. It shows the Earth "rise" as seen from the moon. As of today, the top (earth) is finished. And I love, love, love it.

Here is what the FO should look like..

I thought about taking a break from it and stitching something else between sections, but I was really just dreading finding the starting point for the bottom. So, I told myself that I had to find the starting point before I could switch projects, and I did. I think I'll stick with this one, for now ;) Here's proof that I started the bottom bit:

I know I already posted the Santa, but I framed it today and wanted to repost it. This is the first time I've ever done anything with my stitching other than storing it in a drawer somewhere, so even though it isn't perfect, I love it. It's for my MIL, but I'm going to hold onto it until December.

Thanks :) I'm useless with that sort of thing, but my SO has a great sense of color/style, so I always take him shopping with me for those kinds of decisions.
