I tried searching for this topic, but couldn't find the answer (although I might not have been typing the right stuff in too )
I just ordered my first pattern from HAED and I ordered the regular download version. I paid via Paypal with money in the Paypal account already. How long does it normally take HAED to have the download ready for you? Do they e-mail you when it's ready? Yes - I'm ansty Thanks.
The download is usually instantly available as soon as you've paid, as you have found. If you don't download it then, it stays on your account until you do. You only get one chance to download so as soon as I have it I make an archive copy onto my external hard drive. I also print it all out, when I have enough ink, as an extra backup. I know some stitchers only print the page they need at the time but I like to think that in case something happens to my backups I at least have the full printed pattern. I often do various reprints of some sections. For example if I am working a face that is on more than one page, I cut the pattern up and tape it together to make a complete face.
About getting only one chance to download, if you lose if you still can email to Michelle. She will look what you have ordered and most off the time she gives you a second chance to download it. With the first haed I ordered, while I was downloading the pattern the power got off here. When I got the electricity back on, nothing was on the computer and the download was gone aswell. I mailed her explaing what happened and a few days after I was able to redownload it.
