Hi from VT/Quebec
Hello everyone! I only recently discovered the joy of forums and once I figured this whole thing out I searched for a forum for my favourite hobby!
I've been cross-stitching since my first year of undergrad ('95) when my roommate taught me all about the joy of stitching. I had made a few needlepoint coasters, ornaments, etc., nothing too spectacular in high school, but definitely found peace with cross-stitch. I occasionally knit as well, and that's been since '99 after a broken leg and a wonderful Grandma that gave me something to take my mind off the pain while I recovered.
I just joined yesterday and have only had a small opportunity to peruse the forum, but so far I've definitely found a home! So many others that have the same struggles and joys I find in stitching.
I'm still at work, so I can't list all my UFOs, I will have to check my craft dresser for all of them. For completions this year, I recently finished a Detroit Tigers logo for my dad, a small wedding kit for a cousin-in-law, and a 5 year UFO of a circle of wolves for my hubby. I'll post some pics of them when I get organized!
I'm really looking forward to joining all of you!
Tiffany

Re: Hi from VT/Quebec
Thank you for the very warm welcome! Here are a few projects I've completed this year and a few UFOs and WIPs. I'll try and list them in order of completion and neglect!
Sampler from the cross-stitch calendar as a Valentine's gift for hubby

Circle of Wolves (janlynn?) started in 2005, completed this year
I don't have a picture of the completed gift, this is how I stitched it except for a change of wording. It was for hubby's French cousin, so the words were "Deux ames d'un seul coeur" (I don't have a French keyboard, so no accents, sorry!)

gift for my Dad's bday (November)

gift for my sister-in-law almost completed, just need to glue the wire for antennae and sign and some fabric for the back

I also have a 5x5 needlepoint horse done and a 5x5 tiger needlepoint in progress.
As for UFOs,
I received this as a gift (1991 or earlier) and didn't know what cross-stitch was at the time, I've since started it occasionally, but I don't think I really like it, so I've never finished it!

This was a housewarming gift from my brother and sister-in-law who moved back to Ontario from Alberta. They've since moved to New Brunswick and back out to Alberta and I've yet to finish this!

Possibly for me or for a rescue to sell for fundraising, started 2 years ago
This is a set of Xmas ornaments for my mother. The plan was to give her one a year for 6 years. After that Christmas we had a pretty bitter disagreement and I haven't picked it up since. I've forgiven her somewhat, so I may take it up again sometime.
Other WIPs include a set of dog Xmas ornaments in needlepoint and a secret wolf latch hook and another secret big cross-stitch wolf pattern for my hubby. When he's not home I'll post some pics!

Wow Tiffany, you have done some wonderful work with lots more still to do I'm sure. I love the wolf ones, they are so life like.

Welcome from the West of Scotland!
You sure have a lot of interesting UFOs to cycle between -- don't worry if you were given a design that you dutifully began but now doubt you'll finish. It happens to everyone, and the best thing is to find it a new loving home. Guilt is not part of the stitching experience.
