Japanese scene

Post by vanessanjf »

A bit of a long shot but I bid on a chart on ebay that they called Japanese scene. It was just a chart from a magazine (I have a feeling it was perhaps cross stitch collection as it had the price on it that you could buy the bits for it for). It was of a Japanese pagoda in a japanese garden but I have no idea when the magazine was out? Does anyone happen to have this or even know what I am going on about? I was outbid and didn't keep my eye on it as I didn't realise it would be so popular.

Just a thought, but if you bid on it it should be in the section "didnt win" or something similar and if you go there there should be a "view similar items" it might be a long shot but it might be worth checking out.

Maybe you can email the seller and ask him or her what magazine it was out of? I did that just recently and found out I already had it... If it's CS&CC, I may have it because I have several years of back issues and I'd definitely send you the pattern if i have it... :)

I have e-mailed the seller to see if she does know what magazine it is from.

Sounds like it may be possible that I have it but cannot take the time to look at the moment and will not be able to until OH out of hospital. If you have no joy before Christmas I am sure that I will be able to search between Christmas and New Year.

OH came home yesterday so I managed to look through some of my charts but no joy yet. I remember this scene very well because I thought about doing it for my daughter. If I do not find it amongst my English charts I will look through my Spanish magazines because they often have the same pictures repeated years later so it is worth a try. The Spanish ones normally are in DMC or Anchor so no problem with the threads and I will translate anything relevant.

Sent OH off to the doctors and the hairdressers on his own this morning and spent the time thoroughly enjoying myself going through all my cross stitch magazines but I am sorry to say that the chart was not amongst them. I know for sure that I did have it in the past but presume that it was one of the ones that was passed on to my daughter to share with her friends when I moved to Spain. Sorry to have built up your hopes only to be dashed. I will keep my eyes open though because the magazines around here do seem to repeat patterns, if I spot it I will buy it for you.
