Can I cry?!?!

Post by Rose »

At work today I was pulling a motor apart. I have done more then a dozen now and I pretty much can do all of it by myself. So I was in the process of taking out the spark plugs they are torqued in to about 30 foot pounds so it takes a good hard twist to get them loose. Well I was twisting the 8th one out and BAM I smashed my finger into one of the studs on the top of the motor. It cut my finger nail all the way across and ripped it off. It hurt so bad. And now it is throbbing and making it very hard to type or do any crafting. They say you are lost with out the use of your thumb, well you use your pinky alot to and it hurts like hell when you bump it after the nail has been torn off.

Oh Rose, I feel your pain. You poor thing :( Fingers are the worse cause of all the nerve endings . Most importantly, can you still stitch. Linda

Ouch, Rose. That sounds really sore. I find when I hurt a finger that I always seem to catch it on everything - which only makes it hurt more. Do hope that the pain gets less soon, although nails take a while to grow back. Make sure it doesn't get infected. :D

Ouch ((hugs)) rose you silly sausage! now what did you want to do that for!
Shall we cut it off!

Sorry! that's what I say to my kids to try and take their minds off the pain also hoped it might work
Maybe a pic of a hunky man might take away the pain...what do you think?

I used to say something similar to mine. What cruel mums! But I always knew when they were REALLY hurt. A useful thing.

Poor you, Rose. Don't suppose you've seen a doctor... keep it well wrapped up so no infection sets in. And make sure you haven't actually cracked the bone... (I know, always cheerful.)

Oooohhhh. You poor thing! Sounds very painful. Let's hope it doesn't take too long to heal so you can get back to your stitching again.

Get better quickly. I hope you can still stitch, although all typing may be shot for a bit!

No doctor but I am doing topical antiseptic spray with many bandage changes. The finger is fine moves in all the right directions and only really sore on the very tip. I can not believe how many time I have bumped the silly thing since I hurt it, sends me through the roof each and everytime. Many bad (&%^&*^@#!@) words each time too.

You know it is very slow going only typing with one hand. And I was never all that good to begin with. :?

I was able to crochet a bit last night. But holding the finger out of the way it does cramp up so have to start and stop alot. At least I am able to continue getting presents made.
