Has anyone got any tips of how to divide up fabric,
I want to make one big display of cattitudes astrocats ie 12 squares on one piece of 14s count.

There is no short cuts with this job. You have to count, count and count again. Use either a suitable fabric marker pen or use sewing thread and do running stitches to divide it up.

Not sure if I understand you correctly. Do you want to essentially put 12 different small cross stitch patterns onto one piece of fabric?
I assume you'll be doing it 4x3?
Do you have your fabric cut to the large size yet?
If it's approximately the right size, what I would do is fold it into fourths. Find the center, and count out from there. If you have a little bit of "play" room between each, you can measure with a measuring tape or by folding over the fabric to approximate. Essentially, if you know your fabric is large enough, so long as you start from the middle and work your way out it'll be okay.
