So I've decided to put up a SAL on my current WIP. Here's what I got so far:

Hanging Fairy Lights by Meredith Dillman (HAED)

Wow that is gorgeous. You are doing this by following the colors and what a great amount of work you have made. Almost looks like you are sketching the picture and soon we will see it come to life!!!!!!!! Fantastic

Very nice! Looking forward to seeing progress, and how well it comes out as a cross stitch. I've been eyeing a few HAEDs and it's really nice to see so many here working on them.

That's a gorgeous pattern, with the big eyes she almost looks like a manga character!

I've only picked up cross stitch in a big way again recently and have only just started looking into techniques and realised how many mistakes I used to make. Anyway, I started doing my current project by parking threads so that I don't have to place any stitches which are fully surrounded but I really like the idea of doing one colour at a time so I'll be watching with interest as to how this comes out and maybe do my next project like this!

It's looking great so far!

Thanks for all the encouragements

I probably won't post another update for at least another 2 weeks since right now I'm doing a lot of confetti stitches that are all over the place which takes a lot of time, but doesn't show much effect in the whole picture at this stage.

Purple is my favorite color, too, which is one of the reasons I chose this one as my first HAED project.

Haha, this method is probably slower, at least in the beginning. I should be able to pick up my speed once more stitches are in place (less counting).

As a Japanese manga/anime fan, the obvious manga influence is another reason I chose this design.
