Looking for a pendant

Post by Offe »

I want to make a pendant for the chain I am wearing. I am not quite happy with what I see at Framecraft. Is there another site that offers things like that?

If you find one, let me know!!!!! I had one of the Framecraft pendants and it broke the moment I got it out of the box; the replacement had a big scratch on it :-( and they felt a bit flimsy. I've been looking for nice pendants/brooches etc to mount work in, and thought I found one a month or so ago but now the link doesn't work anymore.
You can sometimes find antique ones with needlework already in them on eBay, and I think they may well be the best option!

Mabel, I am glad that I asked before I went ahead and ordered from Framecraft against my instincts.

Reta, the second link is the closest to what I had in mind, but I don't want to buy the finished pendant, only the frame part.

How can this be a product that is hard to get??

I think the second link actually uses a framecraft pendant. The workshop is helpful, isn't it :-) -- "Materials: frame pendant and chain". And not a dickybird about where to get it, as far as I can tell.

I like the Nordic Needle one and you can actually buy it separately as well -- have bookmarked that although postage may well make it prohibitive :-( will have to check that out. Thanks for the link Reta!

Offe, I agree, surely this must be something stitchers everywhere are clamouring for; why doesn't anyone sell it in lots of variations :thinks: ?

Just found this one on the Nordic Needle site; comes in gold too. Bit more expensive but it looks good quality!

I know this isn't what you asked for but just wanted to share, I've had my eyes on one of these for a while, not sure what I'd stitch to put in them though (or if stitching would fit). It might have to be on silk gauze

It's really dangerous to go browsing, not sure if these will be suitable for cross stitch though. I've fallen for the bottom one

Hmmmm, wonder if you'd find something if you Google lockets -- basically what you want is a locket that's open...

never thought to look for "cameo setting" -- how clever! Thanks for the links, I'll put one or two of those on my watch list.
