Glissen Gloss Colorwash thread

Post by krusso51 »

Hi! I never used this type of thread before. Does anyone know if this thread needs to be pre-washed before it is used to prevent bleeding and also, what can I pre-wash it with? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well, it's a hand-painted silk, so whatever you do will have to be done very carefully! Carrie from Carrie's Creation, who also does hand-dyed silks, once advised me to pre-rinse using Synthrapol (use VERY little!) which stops the loose dye from re-applying itself. Or you could try Glissengloss's website to see if they offer any advice, some manufacturers do.
