Daylight Company Stitchmaster Magnifying Lamp

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can help? I've purchased a Daylight Company Stitchmaster Magnifying Lamp 2nd hand - but I am at a loss as to how to connect it to the stand, it has an electric cable with a 2pin plug on the end but nowt else to connect to. I've contacted Stitchmaster for help and they've kindly emailed a copy of the instructions but these only confuse the issue more. Can anyone help? the model is D24020 now obsolete.
