Some kind of "small package" chart

Post by Kute Kitty »

I know how wonderful everyone here is at finding the most random things!

A good friend of mine has given birth to her daughter today. She was induced early, because the baby was so small that the clinicians were concerned about her. (Lucy herself is only just over 5 feet tall, and her partner isn't *that* tall, so I wasn't surprised, but what do I know!) Baby Penelope weighed 4lb 13oz at birth, so I'd love to do her a birth sampler with a "good things come in small packages" theme. I'm happy to work out the writing itself but am looking for a small package motif to include in it! Don't suppose anyone's seen anything that would fit the bill?

As they are from HAED, these may be a bit too large  , but it was the best I could find.

Most of them have alphabet charts so you can customise the wording to suit.

Deb, the HAEDs are wonderful but probably far too extravagant for now (I'd love to be able to give them something the first time I meet baby, which will hopefully be in the next month!)

Cecilia, the stork sampler is just lovely! Odd because I don't normally go for blackwork (or, pinkwork I suppose) but in this case I believe I will make an exception! Thank you :)

I love them too! the s.w.a.l.k brand is a trade mark of santoro. As far as I know s.w.a.l.k stands for: sealed with a loving kiss. The brand has been in the stamp and card world for some time I think (not sure how long) but has only come to cross stitching rather recently (within the last year). I know that in January there were already 7 designs in the range (not sure if there are more by now).

You can get the kits at cotton crosses , although, they are a bit price-y....
The charts are available for about 1/3 of the kits' costs at crossstitchercharts.com (which is apparently cotton crosses' sister site).
I'm sure there other sites that also sell s.w.a.l.k designs.

There is a super cute granny s.w.a.l.k picture that I'm hoping will come into cross stitching - it's really sweet.

Smiley: I also love the Granny picture. Is it now stamped? I too hope it comes in counted cross stitch one day, as I think I'll be a Granny within the next 2 years (God willing).

Darlene: yes it is now stamped :)
If you search it on internet you are bound to find sites that sell them :)

You're welcome. I think it's simple, yet effective and perfect if you're short of time.
