This will be my first SAL and I'm not sure Iif I'm using it in the right way Anyway I am doing a wedding sampler for a friend from school which needs to be done by October so I can then frame by Nov 5th. I think I've given myself enough time but that remains to be seen as I only get to stitch at night, between re-settling my 21mth old girl (a monster!). Here's where I am so far ...
Hope I've done this right, sorry if I haven't.

looks like a really good start. and you posted your picture just fine. And I think probably you've made a lot of progress especially if you have a little one in the "terrible two's - or almost there anyway.

Its looking great and lovely the sparkly threads in it - they just add to it. Hopefully your daughter will become a little angel and let you get in a lot of stitching. Great start on it.
Keep posting so we can cheer you on with this.

Thanks ladys. Yes Mabel there are sparklies in there. Look good but aren't they annoying? I didn't realise just how many there were until I got it but it is worth it (I suppose).
This is what it *should* look like when it's done.
Definitely making progress.

Metallics are a challenge, but the effect is wonderful - there are some ways to make them easier - use smaller lengths than usual, a bigger needle than usual (size 24 instead of 26 for instance) some people knot the metallic to the needle. And the biggest thing that makes it easier is Thread Heaven - its a thread conditioner if you haven't seen it before and it makes the thread run through the fabric far smoother - and lasts for ages.
Look forward to more progress, hope your monster behaves herself!!

I am absolutely loving my q snaps. The tension is so much better than hoops AND frames and so easy to adjust! Even though everyone says the same thing I don't think you realise just how good they are until you've actually used one.

That is looking so pretty.
I'm glad the Q-snaps work for you. I've never even seen them in the stores. I guess its something you have to get on line. I'm thinking about it. Seems like it would be easier than moving my wooden hoop around, and more flexible than a frame.

I bought mine online from ebay and I think I got another set at 123stitch, but I really do love qsnaps. I did buy ones that JoAnn's had and I really don't like their version nearly as well, plus I don't think they have the smaller ones, only larger ones that are more for quilting
