Greetings from Kentucky USA!
Hello everyone! I found this forum while doing a Google search earlier today. It looks like a fun & active place so I am glad to have found it : )
My name is Shirlee & I have a somewhat long cross stitching history. However, up until about 2 weeks ago I hadn't done any stitching for 7 years! I decided at one point that I was involved in too many crafting pursuits & so I decided to give up some of them. Cross stitching was one of the things I gave up. I had a little shop at the time & I sold off all my shop inventory along with all my personal inventory. Argh! It's a long story but I was looking at some pinkeeps on someone's blog & noticed they had patterns for sale as well. I saw a pattern I liked & decided to buy it. Then I went out & bought some fabric, floss, & needles. I've now made 2 pinkeeps & I've started 2 other projects ... lol! I used to do some designing & was a pattern contributor to a cross stitch magazine back in the 80s. I'd like to get involved with that again.
I also do quilting, painting, sewing, knitting, & rug braiding. I used to make bobbin lace but my eyes just can't see the small threads anymore. I need to find a buyer for all my lace supplies now but know I won't be coming back to that ever again. I like primitive decorating. My husband & I are retired. We are living in Kentucky right now but next year we hope to move to a start farther north. We miss living where there is lots of snow : )
I look forward to getting to know people here & joining in some of the activities : )
Blessings,
Shirlee

Hi Shirlee and Welcome from Australia, I just popped in again after being out doing the shopping and here you - another newbie who has found this wonderful forum.
Argh what a sad thing to have sold up all your inventory but what fun you will have stocking up again. You sure do a variety of things which is great.
I used to do bobbin lace and still have some supplies packed away and still do a little quilting but cross stitch is my passion and always has been - I just got side tracked a little bit. I've always knitted but not often now, kids and grand kids growing up don't want hand knits any more and I have more than enough.
Know what you mean about snow. I have been checking the NZ news sites seeing all the lovely snow over there - I do miss it.
I am sure you will get plenty of inspiration and ideas and hints on here. They are a wonderful bunch of people.

Sally ... Thank you for the nice welcome : ) My husband & I recently watched a travel video about New Zealand. What a beautiful place! He recently ordered one for Australia so we are looking forward to seeing that : ) It's nice to meet another person who loves the snow : )
Cross stitch is my passion right now. I can do all these other things but they have been put aside : )

Hello from Minnesota
Welcome back to stitching. You can certainly come up and play in the snow here.. well not now, its currently 90 out there but I promise we will be covered in the white stuff soon enough.
