Kitted up Train of Dreams and found that one of the colours called for (DMC 781) has been discontinued and according to a google search substituting it for 782 is the way to go. 782 is already used in the pattern though Not really sure what to do now, does anyone have any advice? The difference between the two colours is very slight but I'm not sure how it's going to turn out using the same colour for both
The HEAD im working on at the moment also calles for DMC 781 (Topaz VY DK), i replaced mine with Anchor 309.
My chart to also calls for DMC 782 (Topaz DK), which after looking at the 2 colours there is a slight differnce betwwen the 2.

Looking at the DMC color chart, 783 is very close to 782. If that one is not already used you could substitute it for 781.
Depending on which of the two is supposed to be darker on your chart you may have to make some adjustment with the numbers. 783 is slightly lighter than 782; so if on your chart, 781 is supposed to be darker, just substitute 782 for 781 and make 783 the new 782...completely confused??!! Good luck!
Oh, if 783 is also being used, maybe you could make a blend of 2 colors to come up with the shade you need.

You also could try sending an email to HAED. I think they will respond quickly with a suggestion. I had a question about one of the symbols on the LOTR chart (I had when a symbol is a circle and there is another symbol with a slightly larger circle. And I thought I knew which was the right color, but it was a bit close so I sent an email and Michelle responded very quickly.

Thanks for the suggestions I'll look into getting hold of it without spending ridiculous amounts in postage and if I can't will have to look at substituting it. Unfortunately 783 is also used in the pattern so that's not an option either Hadn't thought of seeing whether Anchor did an equivalent, will also look into that.
I think I'll also email HAED, just to give them a heads up about the problem.

I could do that I suppose although a mix of 780 and 782 may work better as 781 is darker than 782 and 783 (780 is also used). I'm stitching 2 over 1 so it could work
