My first post - Winnie the Pooh

Post by shauniew »

Hi,
I've been wanting to join a cross stitch forum for yonks but keep forgetting.
I thought it'd be nice to see what other people are stitching and for myself to keep a track of what I'm stitching.

I'm currently working on a Winnie the POoh Cross Stitch kit by Designer Stitches called "Hot Air Balloon" and here's a picture of my progress so far:

Image

I started it in August I think (I stitched it on the bottom which is currently rolled around the bottom bar).

Here's a blurry pic of what it should look like finished (and my thumb):

It looks gorgeous. The colors are so vibrant. And I have a very serious case of frame or hoop envy. Can you tell me about it?

Hi!

What do you mean "frame envy"? :) When I first did some cross stitch, I read in magazines that you should always have your fabric pulled taught so all your stitches are nice and even.
I used a hoop at first but:

a) got sick of undoing the hoop to move it around the fabric and,

b) got a numb finger and thumb on my left hand.

The frames are great. At first, I'd pile cushions up evenly either side of me so the frame was above my lap and then stitch. Now I've got a floor stand and it is invaluable.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll post some pictures of the other stuff I've done (mainly Disney)

Ooh I like that design. I'm currently in the middle of a Winnie the Pooh calendar by Designer stitches and I've got a few more of their kits in my stash. I've not seen that one though.

Must resist going to look for it...
