picture afghan (border finished)

Post by annastasia76 »

ok so I have spent so long making this for my mom that her birthday has passed but I think she will think it's worth it. My kids don't like it, they say that their faces look funny, lol. I started off with this picture (I used this one because it's the first time in probably 10 years that my kids would come this close to each other, lol, it took somebody else to get them to do it.

Image
Cropped it down, removed the background to make it a simple image. I then used a cartoon generator on the internet and turned it into a cartoon image to lessen the details even more, I then used a cross stitch generator and picked on that used just 12 colors and instead of cross stitching it I crocheted it. It was alot of work and took alot of hours, I had to keep track of the color changes every step of way, but I turned it into this. I really wish that there could have been more details around the eyes but that wasn't possible

Image

Now I want to find a program that will take a picture and soften it enough to make it look like a painting but not a bad painting, I've seen way to many that make them look bad, I just want the details softened enough so that it doesn't look like a photo.

:applesauce: That is beautiful. Crocheted too. I loved it and hope you can find the program you are looking for.

I finally finished the border, I tried to make it so that it will look like a picture frame, not sure if I succeeded.

How talented you are and what a wonderful idea. You certainly have created something very personal but different and your picture frame looks realistic too.

Great work

Thank you everybody, it was a real pain to make this but I love how it ended up. I just hope that my mom likes it, she should get it tomorrow.
