anyone good with switching colors in a pattern?

Post by motleigh »

I am doing this pattern
Image

It is for a girl and I thought the reds and blues in the words were a little boyish. I would like to switch to shades of pink. I am not real comfortable switching large amounts of color. Can anyone give me some assistance. The reds are DMC 666 and 304 and the blues are 334 and 798. I was thinking of doing 3 shades of bright pink. the darkest and middle for the title and the middle and lighter for the name and date. I am also thinking of making the boot pink too.

I did change the farmer a little. I changed the hair from orange to brown and added pigtails to make it a girl. I also changed the eyes from black to brown. I'll post some pictures a little later.

I know a good few shades of pink that will work.. but I need to go home and check my craft room first... I'm sure someone could probably help you out sooner.. if not I'll have my own answer in a few hours

The unaltered design has a balance between red, blue, yellow and green. If you change the blue (and red) to pink, two thirds of the picture will be pink. Too much pink in my opinion.

I don't see a problem with using red though, to me that is a girly color. Maybe you can change the blue to a purple/violet color, girly but still bluish.

It would really depend on how matchy matchy you want the colors to be as to the colors that you would use. If you want the change to be subtle or drastic?????

I do think Pink for the wording and purple for the border would be very girlie and super cute.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

I have to agree with Daisy above. Mauve/purples 3746 and 340 would be great together and they would be strong enough to not get lost in the design.
