Marie Antoinette

Post by LastingAllure »

I have been SUPER busy the past couple weeks. I was finally able to finish designing my Madhatter pattern that I had been working on for a few months and as soon as I finished it I was inspired to work on another pattern. Here is my Marie Antoinette pattern:

Image

I found though the digital mock up of it really didn't do it any justice, I am still not sold on her hair either so I am hoping to develop that a bit more tomorrow... so instead of stitching my Madhatter right away I decided to go with her. I worked on her this afternoon:

Image

All those holes are beads...and then she has gold #4 very fine braid in her bodice too. Her gown is just covered in beads and sparkles! She is being done on Platinum colored 32 count linen 2 over 2.

And here is the final Madhatter:

Image

I am actually hoping to design a pattern and have enough confidence to send it into a cross stitch magazine but that's in the distant future.

:applesauce: :applesauce: You've made a great start on her I see what you mean about her hair but her bodice looks better sewn than on the picture so I'm thinking her hair will turn out just fine if thats anything to go by.
Lovely stitching looking forward to seeing the beads amd sparkles :D

:applesauce: great start on a great design. You are doing a lovely job and I've definitely seen patterns not near as pretty in magazines. I think you could send a pattern of this to a magazine, but make sure you have the copyright so that you get the credit and the royalties (or whatever it is called for patterns). Looking forward to the Mad Hatter being stitched too.

I LOVE the Mad hatter! she's great.

I'm not fussed on Marie A's hair, but I think with a few tweaks it will be fine! Great start on the stitching. They are very Joan Elliot-esque, which is a good thing, but with a very interesting spin!

I'd actually be interested in the Mad Hatter chart.

Thank you everyone! I have done a lot on Marie Antoinette since I last posted the update of her. The pink part is so close to being finished then I will post a picture! I am still adjusting her hair a bit but I think I have almost gotten it to a stage I am happy with!

And for those who are interested in the Mad Hatter Pattern I will message you the details!
