HAED Cabin In The Woods

Post by Leslie »

I was just wanting a bit of advice.

I have got the "Cabin in the woods" chart, it says to stitch over 1 on 25 ct fabric. But I would rather stitch it over 22ct aida, do you think this would spoli the design?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

No this will not spoil the design in anyway it will just make it a bit bigger. So you will need to recalculate some of the floss use. There are those that work on 18 aida and 14 aida for HAEDs they still get the detail it is just bigger.

I am doing 2 HAEDs right now on 22 ct Hardinger fabric 1 over 1 and think they are looking good. As rose says you need a little bit bigger fabric, but there are some that do these on 14 ct. I would test it first to decide if you want to do 2 over 1 or 1 over 1 for the coverage. You can see mine here in the Bookend Kitties thread and in Tabbies. How it will look will depend, I think, on how tight or loose your stitches are. I find I have to be careful to not stitch too tightly for it to look good.
Another good place to look is on th HAED BB. You can find HAEDs being stitched all different ways. Looking forward to seeing yours.
