Hello from Central Massachusetts!

Post by Violet270 »

Hello everyone.

Once upon a time, I dabbled in cross stitch and really enjoyed it. That is until I got half way through my first project and realized I had miscounted and an entire section was out of place. Instead of just sucking it up and ripping out the offending section, I got frustrated and put it aside to 'deal with later'

Well, it's taken over 20 years, but it's finally later. That original project is long since gone, but I've started a small kit to get myself started again. I was planning on diving into Teresa Wentzler's Carousel Horses for All Seasons once I got good and warmed up, but I've already already started stash building and have about six projects I want to do as soon as possible! It looks like the horses may just have to wait another few years!

I've been browsing the forum for a week or so, and I'm just amazed at the amount of knowledge and talent that's here. I'm sure I'm going to be picking your brains for help and advice for a long time to come.

 Hello Violet and welcome to the forum from South Carolina. Glad to hear that you have returned to cross stitching so well. I hope you will post pictures of your projects. Teresa Wentzler's designs are a lot of fun to do. She was my favorite designer for years so I hope that you will get to her at some point and share your progress with us.

Sending a welcome back to stitching from Minnesota.
I took about a 10 year break.. so I know how that goes. Picked up my needle about 5 years ago and have so many projects that are on my list to work on I'll have to live to be 200.

Happy stitching

Hi Violet and Welcome from me too. Great that you are back to stitching and already gathering stash - so addictive but oh so nice too.

hi!

I also took a break from cross stitching, and am just getting back into it also!

My husband and I are travelling up to Boston on Sunday and are staying for a week. :)

You're not alone. I have a piece of embroidery of a cottage I started waaay back in the seventies, which I keep meaning to finish, but somehow it never even gets to the starting line!
