I promised myself I wouldn't start a new project until I finished my Zodiac series. When I finished those (but before I realized I have to redo 2 of them) I started this project. It's from Cherished Teddies Around the World. I decided I would stitch up each one for each country I've lived in or visted. Unfortunately that means I'm just doing Japan (born there), USA, Mexico and Canada. So I've decided to make it an item on my bucket list to visit some of the other countries featured in this book (and the International Bears I and II from vermillion stitching) so I can stitch up those bears as well. (Planning my vacations in oder to have stitching projects - now that's dedication )
Here's the book (I don't know why it's coming out large here, it's much smaller on my blog):
Here's the Japan Bear:
Here's what I've done so far (14ct Mint Aida, 2x1, full):

Those are really cute. I'm quite jealous you've had the opportunity to visit Japan. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing more progress on this already great start.

I agree with Sally. Dedication or addiction or maybe even an excuse to travel. Works for me. These are precious bears. I did an afghan once with a bunch of teddy bears from a Gloria and Pat book. Many many long years ago when my niece (now 22) was born. They are so adorable. for a great start on the Japanese bear. I'm looking forward to seeing the others as you stitch them.

If I did these for the countries I have been to I would only get USA and Canada. I missed out on Australia because the passport office sent my information and book to someone other then me.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
Everytime I pulled this out to stitch I told myself to take a progress pic first . . . . but I wanted to stitch it instead. It's been really easy to do so far even with all the fractional 1/4 stitches. I haven't done those in so long I almost forgot how to do them (next time I'm going to use 28ct fabric and stitch over 2 so the fractionals will be easier). All I've got left is the backstitching. I'm putting that on hold while I finished up the 2 re-dos I've got to do for my Chinese Zodiac series. I've already started the first one and they shouldn't take too long.

That is adorable. The colors are so soft and pretty and you have done a great job. After you finish the bs (and post it), which country comes next on your world tour?

USA will be next but I can't decide what color fabric to use. He's the sailer guy in the middle of the front of the book. I have the vermillion Japanese bears (this time a couple) to do next so I've got time to decide fabric colors.
