Working on evenweave

Post by JazzeyBear »

So I decieded to get away from all of my heavy confetiied pieces that I want to stitch Christmas ornaments for my family. I picked up fabric yesterday and choose evenweave. I want to work it 2 over 2, but I'm not entirely sure how that works. I've searched and searched so more and can't find any explanations or diagrams showing what I'm actually suppose to do. Can anyone help?

I stitch on evenweave 2 over 2 all the time - but am rubbish at explaining things! Here is a link that I hope will help! If you are stitching on 28ct eveweave over 2, your stitching (and crosses) will be the same size as if you were stitching on 14ct aida.

Thanks for that! It is excatly what I was looking for! I though that's how it was done but wasn't completley sure.

It can be really confusing in the beginning. I had an awful time when doing the Tree of Stitches SAL because I could not get the concept through my head and then it clicked and now I have done several Lizzie Kates that way and one or two other non HAEDs and I don't have a problem (except sometime with the counting of spaces/stitches if I have to start a section more than 5 spaces from another) and really enjoy it. Can't wait to see your ornaments.
