Re: HELP!
I'm afraid I have to agree. I would frog it out and redo it. I know that's a horrible thing to look forward to but it's one of those designs that I don't think you can work around.

Re: HELP!
I have to agree with the above. Frogging is a pain, but I don't think this pattern is one where you can fudge it if there's a mistake hidden somewhere. I wouldn't frog all of it. I think I would frog from the missing line up, and start from there.
280 little stitches seems like a lot, but trust me, is rather have 280 little stitches than much much more.

Re: HELP!
Better now than later. I did over 300 stitches in a piece I did last year in a wrong shade and it showed. Frogging wasn't fun, and I thought for a while about just letting it go and seeing what it looked like, but knew that wasn't the best way to go. (Stitching over didn't work either, only made it look worse). Skipping a whole row is more difficult. If there isn't a way to adjust around it (and I almost never can find it) and as Jazzey said, 280 now is better than a whole lot more later.

Re: HELP!
that is one reason i draw my grid marks instead of using thread or the fishing line...i am always afraid they will sorta come loose or move..and then I count about three times before I mark the lines to be sure that I am 10 away on eachline...i learned the hard way and had marked a line at only 9...
I agree unfortunately I would have to frog the stitches. it would drive me too crazy on something like this that "has" to line up...if it were just a blending background....i would say go with it...but if it has to line up for the pattern to look correct i think i would have to frog it else i wouldn't be happy or enjoy stitching it any more.

Re: HELP!
Thanks all for your advice. I'm about 1/4 way through frogging. I just hope I'm right about where I went wrong, because I'd hate to do the same thing again! I have absolutely no idea how I managed to stitch an extra line without noticing. I've been cross stitching for about 6 years and have never made such a whopping blunder.
I wanted to grid but I only have a pink pencil to grid with, which a) is way too faint for me to see properly and b) the stitches are so small that unless the pencil's kept really sharp it tends to mark two stitches instead of one (if you know what I mean). I need one of those funky blue pens!
Wish there was another way round it but, as you all said, with the pattern the way it is it would be really noticeable if the top half of the map was wiggly.

Re: HELP!
I unpicked 800 stitches last week, muddle up black and navy and did a whole lot in the wrong direction!!! Glad I did it now as I know it would have bugged me!!!!

Re: HELP!
I can't really tell from your pictures - are you working on linen? If so it is possible the strand of fabric has split to create an extra line in the middle there - I've had that problem with linen before (took me quite some time to work out what was wrong.
Myst..
