outlining black on black? colour help please!
Hi
Im currently stitching a wedding sampler, i've changed the colour of the suit to black, why is there only one shade of black?? I need to highlight/outline the lapel, the pocket and where the jacket overlaps the trousers.
What colour would you suggest? I dont want it to look like a big black blob!
Help please!!

Why not try a dark grey or carol colour that night work. Good luck

I agree with Heidi.. try a dark grey
I don't have my threads in front of me, but I know 3799 is one I use a lot
And the 315? 318? greys
Maybe dark won't give enough contrast.. perhaps one of the lighter greys? I would try both light and dark grey and see which works better.

I agree with the suggestions already given. One other possibility that occurs to me is going for one of the very dark blues? Perhaps 939?

Dark grey was my first thought, too.

I agree that grey is going to be your best bet. Try a few different colors, I think my first choice would be DMC 414.

I did a wedding sample in 2010, a full bride/groom and used 3799 on the groom. I am using lots and lots, as when I started these projects, I bought 10 boxes,12 ct. in ea., of 3799 on the In Loving Memory Remembrances now and love the results of it.
Our youngest has my website up and I will post the pics. I first have to get the old computer out and transport more pics, as when I got my new, daughter didn't transport all, as it was late for her and her B/H in getting new computer set up.
HAPPY STITCHING IN STITCHING LAND.

You could try using a metallic black thread (I've found some by Artiste at Hobby Lobby). That way it would still be black, but would provide a subtle difference while still maintaining the color scheme. Good luck with whatever you choose!
