Hi from a newbie

Post by poppett67 »

Hello, I'm Tracey and I have been cross stitching for approx 14 years. I am currently working on a rather large horse racing scene for my father-in-laws birthday (although it might end up as a Christmas present at this rate!)

Over the years I have collected mostly Madeira threads but I am now finding stockists hard to come by so I am gradually changing over to DMC.

I look forward to getting to know you all a bit more, it would be nice to have someone to chat to over our stitching.

*sticks hand up and waves it around* pick me! I'll chat to you.

Welcome to the forum, you'll find a lot of people to chat to here, so pull up a comfy chair and join in the fun. And if you're really good at multi tasking stitch and chat on here at the same time. They're both addictive activities ^_^

Feel free to make a thread in the sal section to show us what you're working on and your progress, we love watching other peoples projects go, and can be really encouraging when they're getting to you ^_^

Thanks for the rapid reply! What on earth are we doing up at this time of night! LOL. I have found the SAL section and had already decided to post my progress pictures tomorrow. I have been taking weekly photos as the design is so big! 141 colours, 21x10.5 inches. Will be back in the morning armed with camera to show you what I'm working on.

Oh, I work nights, I'm completely nocturnal now. So that's why I'm here so late. Can't answer the same question about you though :P

Oooh yay pictures. I look forewards to seeing them ^_^ I've never done anything so big. It sounds like quite an imposing piece. But you have been stitching a lot longer than me, so I bet you're a lot better. Have you found the galleries yet?

Stick up some of your completed pieces in there when you get the chance. We love to drool over pretty pictures ^_^

Welcome Tracey! I'm about eight hours behind you all so I mostly get to chat with Angel. But if you're ever up in the wee hours of the morning, probably I'll be here. I hope you feel comfortable here, this is a wonderful group of stitchers. I've only been on since March (I think?) but it is a special place. I can't wait to see some of your work.

Welcome from a slightly blustery (but still, amazingly, dry) West of Scotland. You'll soon fit right in here, so have a look around the forum. We run bingo and ATCs and swaps, so jump right in.

Hello Tracey and a welcome from me too :)

Having someone else to talk to about stitching is something I love. None of my friends stitch and my family think it looks soooo boring, so this is quite a lifeline. And chances are you'll learn loads you didn't even know you didn't know!!

Looking forward to seeing your big project soon.
Susan
