New & from California

Post by maeflowers »

Hi all, I am new to this forum, and fairly new to cross-stitching. Have been stitching since Jan. '07 but have only finished one project and am working on 2 more. :] Self-taught and still learning.

I live in California and I would like to learn more about stitching so I can get better.

Welcome from the West of Scotland. Jump right in: we love newbies. Don't worry about being new-ish to stitching. We are all still learning something or another.

Wow I had no idea this many people would respond so soon! Hi to all of you! It is nice to talk with people from other countries- I have a pen pal in Russia, too. :)

I will definitely post up some pictures when I get near them. My first completed project was from a pattern I got called "Christmas Patches" and I made four mini ornaments, 2 for my boyfriend's mother and 2 for his grandmother. The four characters were a Santa, an angel, a stocking, and a wreath. I really loved how they came out and not only was it an accomplishment to finish the cross-stitching but also to make them into ornaments! Yes, I have pictures and will post them up asap!

The project(s) I am working on now have been neglected for quite some time. But I am almost done with one of them. I'm not sure what it's called but it has a lady standing next to a chicken and she's holding a sign that says, "Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!" I think the pattern says "janlynn" on it. When I finish that (and do what with it??) I'll post it, too!

And p.s., I'm very excited about this site! Thanks for the warm welcome. :applesauce:
