Help! Red thread bled everywhere!

Post by Little_Rat »

I went to give my project a little washing up and everything that was stitched in a red thread (an overdye that I thought I had properly presoaked) ran rather severely. I've tried to wash it out with several different soaps ("hippie" handsoap and detergent, both with no fragrance etc. and a stain remover), to no avail. Husband suggests I just frog all the red so I can bleach away/go to town on the stains with no fear but I think that's a last resort. Any suggestions? I haven't tried the q-tip and hydrogen peroxide technique yet....

A friend had the same problem with dmc red She contacted company she got the chart from and they said it was a bad batch. They said just to keep washing it, this she did and after 7 washing by hand put it in the washing machine and it came out, Good luck.

Always wash with a colour catcher

Try lemon juice and dry in the sunshine then wash

Rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse again in cold water. More soap won't help you here, I don't think, but cool water (never warm or hot) is your friend. Good luck.
