New member from NJ saying hello.

Post by gb2nyc »

Where to start eh? I have been playing with fabric and embroidery since I was given a scrap piece of fabric from my mum's (a professional tailor) sewing project at the tender age of five, making her a needle book with embroidery on the front, it was replaced last year as it was falling to bits from 49 years of use, mum thought it was funny and said my embroidery had vastly improved as she help up the sad remains of the original, I used to make my own clothes and over the years have become more interested in hand needlework, I have been cross stitching since 1989 mostly for my family, last year I made them all christmas stockings some cross stitch and some felt. I have an embroidery machine that never gets used as I like the look of not so perfect stitches that the hands make. I live in North NJ just in case you wanna pop over and have a cuppa tea as long as you're not allergic to cats and dogs. Well, thats it for now, Hello Everyone.

Thank you all for a warm welcome, I have never taken pictures of the projects I stitched, BUT, I will from now on, I like to make christmas, nature and animal themes, large and small, I have found a few vintage kits on Ebay and Etsy that I loved and change it to the modern way of backstitching, at the moment my WIP is a 18" stocking for my horse mad niece called Deck the Stalls by Needle treasures, it is a kit, it took me a year to find it on Ebay. I shall post a picture as soon as I work out how to upload it.

Lets try this again, now I have read the instructions hehehehe.
This was my very first cross stitch back in 1989.

I hope you don't mind, but I fixed this for you. When you click on the IMG code on the right side of the photobucket page, it automatically copies the code. When you post that code into your thread, do a "control v". Don't click on the insert image link also. You can preview your post and see if it worked.

Love the kitties!!!!!!

Thank you Carole, I use a mac and it's so easy to drag and drop, I am lost on this way of moving pics.

here's another one using Carole's way, fingers crossed.

This is a picture that was damaged by not using acid free card, thanks Micheals framers for that one. Stitched in1989.

They are all lovely. Very well done :D I love cats too & donkeys, my 2 top animals :D Hope to see more of your work & glad you can get photos on as it is good to see them. :D

Just edited as I can see rabbits now, they are cute. Horses are coming on too. Had a message just before I pressed 'submit' saying another added. I've always been an animal lover & it is great to see your choice of animal projects :D

I use a mac also and to be honest never thought about dragging and dropping photos from photobucket to here. Glad you figured it out and didn't have to :computer:
