Konnichiwa from Arizona!
Hi All,
I just joined this board yesterday but thankfully have stitched for about 10 years give or take! I am a recent college graduate (Japanese, Asian Studies and Anthropology) soon going into the Navy but have time to stitch in the meantime!
I'm currently in Arizona, where it's way too hot most of the time.
I find cross stitch insanely addictive. Does anyone else have that feeling where you're stitching and you just see the progress so you have to keep going? A lot of people I talk to say I'm so patient but I think motivation has more to do with it sometimes.
Fun fact: I cannot just stitch and do nothing else. I have to usually be watching a show or movie (Netflix is a sticher's best friend, maybe more can relate). At the same time, if I'm watching a movie or show unless it's in a theatre, I cannot just sit there and watch it and NOT stitch or do something useful.
Currently stitching: Gold Collection's Mighty Samurai, I have a question for it if anyone wants to share help or input here:

I totally have to watch something too! Finished Army Wives, now watching Gilmore Girls ... at work I watch stuff I bitTorrented, currently Grimm. And yes, watching the picture is very addictive, leads to lots of late night stitching.Kibakyu wrote: I find cross stitch insanely addictive. By the way, welcome from Texas, we too can get hot, usually too hot to crochet anyway. I will see how this summer goes for me.
I haven't looked up your link yet, but I am sure there are many willing helpers here

So many HAEDs I couldn't possibly list them all. Current favorites are Dragon Kin, Sea Unicorns (QS), April Fairy, What's This, Dahlia, and so many starts going on. Love to cross stitch! Find me on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/brekkana.kultiras

Thanks for all the welcomes! Being here gives me even more motivation to keep on stitchin'!
The gallery is filled with beautiful things but I can't find a way to post to my own or anything...I'm usually pretty good with this kind of stuff but I can't find my own, can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think you may need to have 15 posts or something like that and once you do, you should be able to access the gallery to upload pictures into your own gallery---to do this you will see a page something like thisKibakyu wrote:Thanks for all the welcomes! Re: Konnichiwa from Arizona!

No way can I stitch and watch something at the same time. I do occasionally have a radio going though but with 2 dogs and 1 cat in the house plus 2 noisy dogs next door that is more than enough noise for me.

We're just creeping into Spring here so soon it''ll warm up enough to stitch outside!

I used to stitch and watch TV but then the eyes need glasses

I listen to music and stitch, nowadays often late into the night after hubby has gone off to bed with a Good Book!

Re: Konnichiwa from Arizona!
Welcome from Chicago, a part of the world that is only now emerging from below-freezing temperatures!!
I totally understand having to have something else going while stitching. Since I know I can't have something playing on the tv or YouTube that requires me actually seeing it, I tend to either play dvds of films that I've seen before and on which I can just turn on the director's commentary to listen to while having the option of looking up to see the occasional visual, or, as a history buff, documentaries always work (Simon Schama's History of Britain, or any of the Ken Burns documentaries that aren't the National Parks--that series is just too pretty not to watch--I listended to his entire Civil War series over the weekend while stitching!), as do podcasts that I like to download (I've go to one website about a cappella music called Mouth Off, one on movies called Now Playing, and a sister-site to Now Playing that's about books called Books and Nachos).
