Greetings from WA state!

Post by MarleneB »

I just discovered this site and thought I'd give it a go!? I'm also on everythingcrossstitch.com chat board as Lpnbarnes.

Wife to John for 25 yrs (4/1/90); mother of 5 ages 35, 33, 24, 23, 16 and Grandmother of 5 ages 13-4!!

I'm a semi retired LPN (nurse) but working on returning to the job force soon and I prefer to work in skilled nursing facilities/nursing homes.

I am not creative in the least, but discoverd counted cross stich 20+ years ago and was instantly hooked! I'm a self taught stitcher but it was fairly easy to pick up as I used to attempt to embroider. I do not draw, sculpt, scrapbook, photograph, write, paint, rubber stamp, knit (but I DO crochet!), grow things, play musical instruments (but WANT to play piano!!) or ANYTHING related to the arts!!

Lol! I guess it would've been simpler to just list what I CAN/DO do: counted cross stitch, crochet, sing and cook!! That's it! Even with cross stitching I get a pet tern AND FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER!!!

I live in Everett WA, USA, but wish I was in Arizona or Florida!!

Guess that's enough for now!

Hi Marlene and Welcome from me in cool Brisbane Australia where we are slowly drying out after a stormy couple of days.

Its great to have you along and I look forward to seeing pictures of your work.

As for putting our WIP's etc under our signature, go to User Control PAnel top right of screen, Edit Profile, Edit Signature and that should get you where you want to go to put your preferences on screen :D .

Hello from thunderstorm-y Colorado and welcome to the forum. What are yo working on now? I hope you'll share pictures of your WIP's. And there's even a section here for other crafts, so you can share your crochet with us, too. :-)

I was born in Washington (a very long time ago :-) ) - Bremerton. The last time I was in WA was in 2010 for an Alaskan cruise, but we spent two days in Seattle before - we had perfect weather and a great time doing all the touristy things. I was with my son and daughter-in-law and they had never been to Seattle.

And welcome to the forum from the West of Scotland! Hope you enjoy exploring our little place here: we have a pub (the Stash & Grab) complete with pool room, ball pool and treehouse (who says we can't have fun?); the virtual fully functioning hospital for emergencies (St Cross Stitchers); lots of WIPs for you to enjoy and galleries to explore once you have 10 posts.

You may be relieved to know that no one here much minds that you haven't ticked all those scary boxes. As long as you enjoy what you are doing!

Welcome to the Forum, Marlene! If any of us had to list all the things we can't do we'd be here till Christmas and probably beyond :-) -- much more sensible (and fun) to concentrate on all the things you can do, and enjoy!
You mentioned singing - are you in a choir? What sort of music do you enjoy singing?
