Mouselady's Stitching Update 07/17/16- A Finish!

Post by mouselady »

I hope you don't mind that I started this new thread to post my weekly stitching updates. It was so nice to hear all of your lovely comments on my Woodland Rabbit and my Lily of the Valley. I found it all very encouraging and motivational.

With the completion of the rabbit, the main project I will be working on along with the continuation of the Flower of the Month SAL is a new birth announcement for a friend "Star Light, Star Bright" designed by Joan Elliott for Design Works.

So far I have about two weeks into this project. I know it's not very impressive but I don't have that much time to stitch each day. Mostly, just a little time during my commute to and from work each day and perhaps a little time during my lunch break; if I get to take one :?

Thanks for looking.

:applesauce: :applesauce: That is going to be so adorable! and I think you have made good progress. No problem with a new thread. I have separate threads for most of my WIPs. Some members like to put them altogether and others have separate ones. Whatever works for you.

You have a very fortunate friend who is going to be so delighted!

The design is super cute and I think you've made really good progress on it. Keep up the good work.

As for a separate thread - I keep my main projects each in their own threads, and my "little guys" share a thread. Do whatever works for you.

What an adorable little piece you've started. I can't wait to watch this one grow.

As far as starting a new thread, do whatever floats your boat. :D I only have one, but then I'm only working on one project and updates are far and few between.

Thanks for sharing your pictures. I can never get enough of looking at pictures.

Finally decided to start on my Faces of Joan Elliott SAL. I saw this after the second or third square was posted and I just knew my cousin, who loves fairies would adore it. Then when I saw there was a cat face, and I love cats, it seemed like a perfect gift, fairies for her and a cat so she will always remember it is from me. But then I just didn't get a chance to start it until this week. Sorry it took me so long to start it; so far it has been a really fun piece. I know I'm a slow stitcher so my goal is to have it done for her 65th birthday next November. I am pretty sure I can make that goal.

Here's what I was able to do this week. Thanks for looking.

Those are both adorable. :) I can't wait to see your progress on them.

Just remember, it's only one stitch at a time. You'll get the Faces one done by her birthday - I just know it. :)

The birth sampler is a lovely design and you have made a great start on it. It is so lovely to see the JE's Fairies sampler on the go again and again you are making good headway with it.

We all stitch at various speeds which doesn't matter at all, as long as we can stitch something and enjoy it too.

I agree....progress is always quicker when you really love the design and know that the recipient will too! :D

I have really enjoyed this piece as it has been stitched by the different forum members. It's fun to watch how everyone seems to personalize it. I look forward to more updates.

This week I went back to the Flower of the Month SAL, and started on the June Wild Rose. I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I couldn't get this picture right. The colors are more vibrant and the fabric is not stained  but I think you can still see my progress which I am pleased with.

Thanks for looking!

Very pretty!!!

(It's not always easy to get a true-to-color picture, especially in artificial light.)
