Welcome to the Forum, Daisy! I haven't done the project you mention so I can't tell how long it would take, but stitchers vary a lot in speed so what would take one stitcher a month, might take another stitcher 2 month - and then there is the question of how much stitching time you have per day/week/month.
On the whole I'd say that unless you have a deadline, it doesn't matter how long it takes as long as you enjoy it!

 Hi Daisy! Welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I couldn't agree more with what Mabel said about how long it takes to stitch a piece. Every stitcher has his/her own pace, time available for stitching and style of stitching. Enjoying the process is what I think is important.
I hope you will post pictures of your progress. We love pictures! Looking forward to getting to know you.

Greetings from Colorado and welcome to the forum.

I agree with Mabel and Carole - we all stitch at different speeds - I'm pretty slow and I'm okay with that. For me, it's the joy of each stitch, not the speed.

Hi Daisy  and Welcome from me too in sunny Brisbane its great to have you along. I agree with all the other posts, the enjoyment you get from stitching is the key, if you don't enjoy doing ti then the project seems to take forever to get done.

I love autumn and autumnal colours oh so much and miss them up here in the sub tropics. There have been a few people who have done autumn colour designs so have a look back through the SAL thread. :D

Depending on the stitching method I'm using, number of colours, complexity of the area being stitched, stitch size etc, I vary from 120 stitches an hour down to 11 stitches an hour. So, don't get too bothered by it.

I have found that on average I seem to be able to manage around 50,000 stitches a year, and have done so for the last 3 years despite recent increases in complexity. So, maybe practice makes things a little faster.

Anyway, it's the stitching as much as the final result that is the fun. I really enjoy seeing a picture emerge, just as I enjoy seeing the finished result on the wall in the living room.

Regards,

Richard.
