Hi, I am new here

Post by sina28 »

Hello everyone!

I quickly want to introduce myself. I am Sina, student from Germany, although currently living in Moscow, Russia. I have been reading here for a few days and am really liking this forum, everybody is so nice!

When it comes to cross stitching, I am a total newbie, just started my first peace (oh man, there is so much confetti involved :D ) but I try to do my best. Maybe I can show it to you in my own thread?

If you don't understand anything I write, please don't hesitate to ask me, as English is not my first language.

My other hobbies include reading and painting, but I'm sure the stitching will become a part of my life, because I am hooked! :king:

I am really looking forward to reading, participating and of course chatting with all of you here

Greetings from Russia,
Sina

 Hello Sina and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! Your English is great (wish I could speak another language that well) . You have discovered a wonderful hobby (obsession? passion?) and a great place (here!) to share and learn. We would love to see pictures of your project. You can go to the Stitch-a-long section and start a thread and post pictures there. This thread, Posting Pictures into a Thread explains how to do that. Ask any questions you might have. Someone here will either know the answer or have a very good idea of where to go to find the answer. Looking forward to getting to know your.

Hello from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you've found us and the wonderful hobby of cross stitching. And please do share pics of your work. As you've browsed around already, you know how much we love pictures.

And your English is fine - I wish I could speak a second language. I took French in high school (a VERY long time ago) and I took a couple college semesters of Russian. I recently bought a couple books to try to re-learn what little I had learned and forgotten (it was also a very long time ago).

Welcome!!

Although I've stitched off an on for many years, I still consider myself a newbie too. This place is excellent for stitching support, though, and I'm glad you've found it.

I agree - your English is wonderful. I can only speak a few things in Spanish, French, and Italian. I'm always in awe of those who can speak two - or more - languages fluently.

And you have to learn a whole new alphabet, too. I felt like I was in kindergarten when I was trying to learn to write the letters. :-) But it is really a beautiful language to listen to. I bet you'll pick it up in no time.

I have a lot of respect for anyone who can master any language other than their native tongue.

I don't know any Russian at all. My hat's off to you!
