My daughter(8) has been wanting me to teach her to cross stitch for a couple of months now, and I've been looking for something simple as my daughter has no patience (another reason I haven't wanted to teacher her).

But I broke down today found a super easy pattern no backstitch required!.....one skill at a time.....

after 1 hour of stitching this is what she has !

That's a great start -- tension looks wonderful and all the stitches are crossed the same direction. Can't say better than that!

that is an excellent start! The stitches are perfectly neat and uniform. Wouldn't know the stitcher was 8 years old.
I hope she enjoys it and continues on with it (though I wouldn't be surprised that there are some breaks at times). Please keep us up to date on her progress. There isn't any age requirement for showing your work on the forum!
