Help with Pearl Filament

Post by poppett67 »

I was wondering if anyone (esp the American ladies) could help me. A few years back a penpal of mine sent me a kit from Candamar Designs Inc called "Friends Picture." It is a circular design of two dolphins under the water and I have run out of the pearl filament used to show the light hitting the top of the water. On the chart it just says Pearl Filament #7282.
Can anyone suggest anywhere in the UK that I can buy any of this from, so that I can eventually finish this design? Thanks

Okay, I'm one of the Amer. ladies, but I do know that Kreinik makes a pearl blending filament. I have several Thomas Kinkade patterns/kits (by Candamar) that call for it. Maybe it's an alternative? :thinks:

Some kits use their own brand of floss. I know dimensions kits use dimensions floss and have never seen it available in stores. But if you email them they send you more out.

Do you have a scrap of the pearl filament left over to compare with, say, Kreinik pearl? The number of this thread in the range is 032, and it's lovely: frosty, and shimmery. I use it quite a bit in the past, and it really makes water and snow 'catch the light'. The same petite treasure braid would be PB10.

At the Candamar site, there is a conversion chart between the thread used and DMC. The other thread is named as Anton, which has a website of its own. They are a wholesaler, however, and I haven't been able to find anything like a conversion chart on the web.

Thanks for your replies ladies. I googled the site and contacted them direct. Received an email today saying they are popping some thread in the post for me. :applesauce: My friend will die of shock if I finally get it finished and send it to her. She gave up asking about it in the end, so maybe once I have finished the two things I have on the go now I could get on with it. Will post pics WHEN I do!
