home again

Post by kingfisher2 »

Back home now. Cousin doing well & next 2 weeks taken care of. Young relative taking cousin for an appointment today & another tomorrow so she's staying all week - another family member going next week. Hopefully all will be well by then.

Cousin is arranging for hot dinners to be delivered daily when on her own again. That will be a big help & also she knows someone will be calling middle of the day.

I'm off to my Drs for annual blood test! Crafty cat nearly finished, quick stitch this one. Put on pic later.

Lovely to hear that you will come back to some kind of "normality" and that your cousin is doing well.

What a lovely and caring family you have!

I agree. Good caregivers often forget that to be a good "caregiver" you have to take care of yourself also.
Looking forward to Crafty Cat!

Good to know you are home again and that others have stepped in to help out. Enjoy the time at home and rest up and enjoy the spring time.

Thank you for all messages DH & I are fine. We have the use of static caravan for several weeks so are going away tomorrow, Friday. Relative doesn't need caravan until end of June so its ours until then.

Will try & post pic of Crafty Cat. Tried yesterday but PI would not accept my email address when so will need to re register when I have time.

This latest family health problem has made us realise we need to be closer to family. Although my cousin is 1 hours drive away rest of family are almost 2 hours away from us & when we need help in the future it is a long way for them to travel. Once we are home after caravan holiday we will start looking for somewhere else to live which is within easy reach of relatives. In future, younger ones are dealing with all family needs, they said DH & I have done enough helping. Good to know that we can rely on them in future as we're not getting any fitter as we get older.

Take care & thank you.

Thank you Mabel. When away will go into a library to use their PC to catch up on news. Once back home from holiday we are hoping that, as we live in a building association flat, we can do a straight swap. Easier that way :D

You have been so busy, Izzi, helping and back and forth to your relative. It will be a well needed rest for you both. Also, you will be able to make plans more clearly when you come back. Nothing stands still for very long, does it?
Enjoy you time away
