Silhouette Angel

Post by Squirrel »

I have decided that this should have it's own thread so here is a refresher of what pictures have been posted plus 1 new one.

What she will look like when done.

Image

The fabric with the 4 colours I am trying to choose between. DMC 921 & 3824 top row; 976 & 814 . The fabric is luminescent 16 ct aida from Chromatic Alchemy design is Solar Blast.

Finally the terrible chart laid out as it should be.

Image

Now I know where to place the fabric and where to start it - once I start it. I am thinking more towards 976 at present.
Thanks for looking.

Beautiful fabric and I love the left thread in the second row--but any of them would stitch up so nicely with that fabric

This will be really beautiful and I do prefer the bottom colours.

I'm so sorry again the chart is so aggravating. I'm a fan of the purple and red, nice and bold on that fabric.

Beautiful Angel project, Sally! :D

Well done for sorting the chart out. It looked a bit like a puzzle.
I like the idea of stitching a few crosses on the fabric with the different options. Very professional!

Beautiful project and beautiful fabric Sally.

I think the blue thread would look stunning on that fabric, but whichever you choose I'm certain it will be a wonderful Angel

Beautiful project. The fabric is stunning. Any of those colors would look excellent. I'm slightly more in favor of the color of the top right thread. Going to be a hard decision I'm sure!

Well I spent most of this week firstly on sorting out how the charts fitted together then gridding it - not very well - and yesterday thought I had figured out where to start it.
As you can see it is long and narrow and so is the fabric now so it had to go on my smaller rollers and sidepieces. The was fine but then my stitching it onto the fixed tape was crooked X2 but finally got it. Yesterday I tried several times to start it and each of them turned out to be a 10x10 square or two.

Now it is rolled up and in the drawer to await the time when I am more 'with it' and can figure out an easier way to stitch it. I have put up the Christmas Stocking again and will do a couple of weeks or so on it and then decide what to do about Jenny's gift - which might just turn out to be 1 of the Wrendale designs..

Sally, buy and stitch that "happy" fox as I call that design. The one with his eyes closed with pleasure. One just cant help feeling better from the very glance at that fox.

As for that other design, after a week or two in the bottom drawer it will be more tame, believe me.

It is just not the right time for this Angel to be stitched, Sally! It used to happen to me with knitting: Some projects did not want to be knitted Often it was a question of the wrong wool or pattern or just the wrong time!

Once you get back to the swing of things with the stocking, it will feel like a breeze :D

Oh dear, I am sorry the Angel is giving you such a hard time, Poppy is right, she is not ready, and this wonderful hobby of our is meant to be enjoyable not a chore.

I'm sure you will find the right project soon, and you will breeze through it.

Thank you for your kind words - they are helpful. I've never 'dumped' a project out of sight before and was feeling a bit guilty about not trying to stick with it. However after an hour on the Stocking all is well again.

Lyudmila, I already have Mr Blissful aka "happy fox" along with 2 other recent purchases just sitting looking at me. However Christmas is approaching too rapidly to ignore the Stocking so its out of the wardrobe and back on my table. :)

I agree with the others Sally that the time is just not right. I've had designs that I couldn't figure out what or how to get started and then came back to later and it was very clear what needed to be done. Obviously the stocking was sending you subliminal messages that it needed to be worked on now and so you are!

Thanks everyone. I have finally finished the dratted moon with all its 5 different shades and colours. However Angel is yelling at me considerably louder than doing more on the Stocking. A busy end of week ahead so maybe next week will see an attempt at a restart on Angel. :)

Listen to The Call, Sally :-D

Congratulations on completing that moon :applesauce: :applesauce: - the shading in it is beautiful, so I hope you felt it was worth the effort.
