Would you believe that some of my stitching is actually - gasp - useful? I do try and mend clothes and other fabrics, especially when they are things I love and really don't want to throw away, but this was my first time trying to mend crochet! DIL had picked this blanket (or whatever it is - she hopes to use it as a table topper) when we were clearing out MIL's apartment, but it had a big hole in it where the threads had frayed through. Could I try and mend it please? Well, it isn't perfect but it's usable now!
I've had to mend crocheted blankets and ponchos and scarves over the years. Not always easy depending on the hole. You did a beautiful job! And how great that will be as a table covering and a loving memory at the same time.

I read you FoF description and am amazed how you managed to get such an invisible result. I see that the colour isn't as exact as you might wish but at least you've made a more than acceptable repair. That lovely coloured table centre will 'live' to be displayed for a good few more years.
