Needles.

I just wanted to know if anybody could recommend some good needles that do not tarnish. I am starting my first big project soon, and i just wanted to get stocked up before i start. I have heard of peicemakers, but i dont really want to order from america.

Personally I love gold-plated ones, and they are actually surprisingly affordable. Yes, they will tarnish after a few projects (or one big one), but while they last they are wonderfully smooth and as you can buy 50 assorted ones for about £5 including postage here I just keep stocked up and change needles whenever I feel I need to (which reminds me I need to buy some to go in a needlecase I'm making as a present).

The nice thing about the gold-plated ones is that when the plating starts to wear off (as you can tell by the colour change and the fact that they're getting a little less smooth) they don't immediately start to snag -- so you've got plenty of warning to change needles

sorry to hijak but can anyone tell me what size needle i need for 16/18ct aida and 28ct evenweave.

for the aida use a 26 -- for 28ct evenweave I know many recommend a 26 as well, though personally I prefer a 24, unless I'm working with a single strand or with blending filaments. Hope this helps!

the needle that came with the kit seemed a lot smaller than im used to but find them a lot easier to use i shall compare when i get home. thanks for the advice mabel
