Please help

Post by minij »

Hi All
On my Christmas wish list I would like to add a reasonably priced and easy to use programme for the computer that will turn photos into charts. I am not interested in designing but would like it to produce good quality charts. I know there are a few out there but not being very computer literate I am a bit confused as most of them seem to be selling themselves on the designing options. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

I have the Jane Greenoff designer. It is really good but the instructions for printing are not brilliant alhough finally figured it out and got two designs printed into my stash pile. I bought it from Amazon. Beware there is more than one version as there is one compatible up to windows XP and then another that is compatible with Vista.

I have PC Stitch 7 and, whilst it is good for photographs, I don't rate it that highly overall. You have to select the amount of chart colours you use - if you select too few the photograph just doesn't seem "right", too many and you can end up with the odd one or two stitches in certain colours. You can "merge" colours with similar ones but it is quite time consuming. I did find a free version called KG-Chart LE here which is spy and adware free and I find this is much simpler to use and a relatively good program for a "freebie".

stitchingmel: the link isn't working. I just went to the home page, and from there to the dowload section.
Thanks for the site, it looks interesting, will have to give it a try.

Stitchingmel, thanks for this programme, I just downloaded it and it's really good.
I was looking for something quick and easy to use as I only need to chart letters occasionally and this was ideal. :applesauce:
